Body and mind One of the supernormal capabilities of mindfulness is to help our mind function normally. The mind as well as our body, if there are deadlocked areas, we will generate disease. At first, we don’t usually see illnesses, but if there is a stalemate in the mind, the symptoms of mental illness will slowly detect. b
If we know how to practice so that such impasse does not happen, we will never have an accident with mental illness.
NECESSITY OF BLOOD CIRCULATION
In our bodies, the circulation of blood is extremely important. If blood does not circulate regularly, toxins will collect in parts of the body, especially the part where we are less active. When toxins are high in content, those areas will ache and become sick. For example on our heads, if the blood doesn’t flow properly in our tiny blood vessels, we will have a headache. When having such a headache, if someone massages our head, that massage will help blood flow on the head circulation, and then after fifteen minutes or half an hour, we see fewer headaches. This is due to the conditioned circulation of blood on the head.body and mind
When blood circulation, the toxin will be circulated to other places and will be eliminated from the body through the urine, respiratory tract, or intestinal tract. So body massage is a very therapeutic action.
Massage permission, Sino-Vietnamese language is Magisterium. The sentence is pressed down. Ma is a massage. When we press our finger down on an area of the body, we force blood to leave our place of pressure. When you lift your finger, blood from elsewhere flows back to that place. If we continue that action many times then we create a better blood circulation. Everyone knows that when blood flow does not circulate, a hundred diseases will arise in the body. So there are drugs to help blood circulation, there are massage methods to help blood circulation, and there are also methods of movement to help blood circulation. The circulation of blood in the body is very important for the peace of the body.
NECESSITY OF PSYCHOLOGICAL CIRCULATION
Psychologically, too. Our psychology is a blood type, it has to be circulated. If the psychology is suppressed, stifled, it also creates sick symptoms. So there must be a method called psychotherapy, to help psychology no longer get stuck, and there is circulation in our psychology.
For example, in our psychology, there is anger or fear that we do not dare to think about, do not dare to cherish, do not dare invite up to see the face, then the phenomenon called the death of psychology begins to occur. In us, there is the seed of fear. Every time we come into contact with the seed of fear we are not at ease, so we tend to suppress fear. We can also be afraid of being alone, afraid of being rejected; fear of death, fear of deteriorating then the other person abandons me. I fear old people living alone in a corner. We all have those fears. But we don’t want to think about it, because thinking of it is uncomfortable! So in that area of psychology, there’s a deadlock.
We think that fear of sleeping there has no effect on our daily lives, so we ignore it. We know there is a fear deep in the mind, but we ignore it as if we are not afraid. In fact, the seed of fear is so great, it wrongs us in our daily lives. Because it is there, and indirectly it affects our day’s behaviour. The reason we don’t do it, or we do it, is because the seed of fear resides in that corner of our psyche. We don’t know that fear is controlling us, conditioned us. If we are mindful, we will realize that we did not do that, or that we did it because of the fear that it is in the bottom of our bodies.
Therefore, the Blessed One teaches teachers and monks not to let such seeds lie still and create a standstill. Must find, must contact with it, must identify it, must be how to transform it, circulate.
As practitioners, every day we have to massage so that the pain and suffering are transformed. Let us not be afraid. Just like when we massage the body, when we touch the aching area, we get more pain, but the pain will help treat the wound. In our mind, too, there are areas of stifling and aching pain, when we touch, it hurts even more. But those aches and pains are necessary for treatment. So being in contact with our anger, our fear, is something we have to practice every day.
I must grow old, I cannot grow out of aging. It is exposed to the seed of old fear.
I have to die, I cannot avoid death. It is exposed to the seed of fear of death.
Tomorrow when I leave, I will not bring anything. It is exposed to the seed of fear of loneliness.
Right now I’m clinging to one person or two or three people. Clinging to a name, a position, again, or a diamond. I think all of that is necessary for my security, my happiness. But the truth is tomorrow when I leave, I will not bring anything, any one person, even though that person is my most loved person in the world. I will not bring a degree, a status, an account. I will go with empty hands. Those are objective truths, clear truths, blatant truths that we face every day.
Practising those breaths will help you come into contact with the seeds of fear, fear of illness, fear of death, fear of loneliness, fear of losing what you affectionately love today, you mourn.
We see there are two appearances. The first appearance is fear, and the second appearance is mindfulness seeking to come into contact with that fear, embracing it to transform. Thus mindfulness is the hand of massage. When the hand came, it pressed down and rubbed, it forced the blood there to circulate. Here, the pain, the suffering in the body stagnates, creating stalemate, so mindfulness must go to, have to do the work of massage.
First of all identify: “I know you are there”. If we let that fear and grief become a deadlock, it will have an impact on our daily lives. So we have to find a treatment.
We all know that consciousness has two parts. The part called Italy, located above, a part called the museum is located below. We have the pain of suffering lies in the hidden part. They do not lie still, they push, they push, they seek to find out, and because we live our daily lives without mindfulness, those sufferings are getting bigger and bigger.
What feelings? Despair, fear, hatred, lust.
Those toxins are in our minds. Whenever they are detected on the surface of the mind, we suffer. So we don’t want it to detect.
If we don’t want these blocks of fear and grief not to appear, we often use methods called suppression or suppression. My intention is the same as the living room, and the hidden part is like a warehouse. In order for these suffering blocks to stop sitting in the living room, we must find a way to occupy the living room by inviting the things we want to bring into the living room.
For example, we seek entertainment. We put in the living room television and turn it on, we have a movie story take place. Or we read a novel, and while we are engrossed in reading it, our living room is occupied. When the living room is occupied, other guests cannot enter. During the time we watched a radio program, the living room was occupied so that the “other guys” could not climb. If there is no novel or TV, we find other ways, for example, we pick up the phone to talk. While talking to others, I noticed the story, so the other guys could not climb.
If our friend is not home and we can’t talk on the phone, then we can find another way. We go into the garage to drive a car. Anywhere you go, as long as you don’t sit there alone in my empty living room. Because sitting there like that, those guys will come out and bite us. That is the case with so many people in today’s society.
If we look at the individual cases of people living in society today, we see that this is the way most people live. We are afraid our living room is empty. Because every time our living room is empty, awful guys downstairs will find a way to get up. When we climb up and sit down in the living room, we suffer. The masses of despair, the lust, the fears, the hatred, the jealousy, the dark thoughts inside us emerge and begin to manipulate, wrong us.
So invading the living room is the method most people living in our time apply to prevent, not let those sufferings emerge. We inadvertently or intentionally build a fence to prevent these suffering blocks from rising. When pressed like that, we create a position, a situation called a psychological impasse.
It goes up, we suffer, but it up, we support, because it has circulation. But because we are afraid of suffering, we don’t know how to contact those things, so we press it down and create a psychological impasse. It is a very dangerous thing!
Maybe we use the method of occupying the living room during the day, but at night we sleep, where are we practising the occupation of the living room? When we take a nap, these blocks of suffering begin to surface, so we have a desire, we suffer, we are afraid. Afraid to go to bed, I cannot control my living room when I sleep. That’s why I stay up all morning watching to watch the thief!
Meanwhile, the suffering blocks under the consciousness because of being stuck, they produce enough symptoms, including symptoms of insomnia, symptoms of depression (depression). It is all due to the fact that our psychological phenomena are prohibited, not circulated.
There are people who live permanently in fear. This fear is not fear of ghosts or fear of robbers, fear of theft, fear of police. Meaning not afraid of an object from the outside. What they are most afraid of is what is in the depth of their minds. Those things that rise are very dangerous for them! They may suffer to the extreme, and in such times of suffering, they suffer, they think that the only way to stop suffering is to commit suicide! Those who have great blocks of grief in the depths of their minds that are stuck are very afraid. They are afraid of their own psychology, it is the dark, sorrowful blocks in their depths of consciousness. During the day they can use police methods to suppress. At night, the police force no longer worked, so more and more they suffered because of their problems.
The people they invite into the living room during the day are movies, novels, stories, they belong to the type of food. Food can help them forget the suffering that lies beneath it.
We know there are psychologically insecure people, whenever they see insecurities starting to stir and want to emerge, what do they do? Someone went into the kitchen to open the fridge, take out food to eat. Because while eating like that they have work to do. They taste, they chew, they swallow and they are busy, so they survive those moments. In our day, there are plenty of people who have plenty of food, and there’s always food in the fridge at home. Whenever they felt uneasy in their hearts, they went to the kitchen to open the fridge and took their food. While eating like that they felt that insecurity resting for a while. Practice eating, they get fatter day by day. Eat so that you will not be overwhelmed by the sufferings. Eating and not stopping. It is a disease of many people in today’s consumer society.
Meanwhile, in the underdeveloped countries, where do refrigerators have food available? So when they are hungry, they have to go looking for work, porters, sweeping markets, doing all kinds of things. In those moments they didn’t have time to chew on their suffering. During such hard work, they consume the energy of the body, so they are of much help.
People who are suffering from mental illness, if given to work as labour, they will be greatly reduced suffering. But if those people are rich, have money, have food, then they are in a more difficult situation.
Here we do not eat foods called food troughs, that is, eat by mouth. We eat food called a scoop. We watch movies, we read novels, we read newspapers, we talk, we go to the dance, go to the tea room, we go to the concert. While consuming products with such toxins, we put them into the minds of those toxins, and they increasingly make the pain and suffering more and more. For example, while watching movies, we like strong feelings such as fear, suspense, and lust. Because movies that don’t beat our fear, suspense, lust, despair, or hatred are bad movies.
Films must have those things to be good, to be attractive. I live in the flesh of the main characters.
When a person is in a state of despair, one is also hopeless. At the point when that individual is in a condition of dread, he is likewise apprehensive. When that person lives in a state of lust, we also crave to sing along. That is called consuming arts. While consuming such artistic productions, we continually introduce into our minds the toxins to cultivate the pain and suffering that are available to us. Therefore, the situation is increasingly heavy, more and more critical.
The so-called method of occupying the living room without mindfulness is a very dangerous method. Yet those who suffer around us are doing so!
We should not apply the method of occupying the living room, because this is just a “temporary treatment”, but actually not treatment.
According to the Buddha’s method, we must observe the precepts. Must practice the five precious precepts, which means seeing your situation as bad as this, you must immediately stop the harmful food sources. The Fifth Precept is very important in terms of consumption. The Fifth Precept teaches us to have the courage to end the food supply that brings toxins into our bodies. The fourth, third, second, and first precepts are the same. All five sexes have the purpose of stopping harmful food sources.
But leaving the living room empty is dangerous. So how to make our living room to get the guests are not harmful, not in our hell. For example, when listening to the Dharma talk, there are very precious guests in our living room, those are the healthy thoughts and wishes we receive during the listening period. So is the Dharma talk, and so is the walking meditation, during which we are exposed to the Sangha, to nature, and our living room is receiving very precious guests. We can receive Bodhisattvas, enlightened beings in our minds.
Sitting and talking to a nun, a happy monk who has mindfulness watered in daily life, I was exposed to very precious nourishing foods. That is the Five Precepts practice. Practicing the Five Precepts is ending the harmful food sources, and starting to come into contact with healthy food sources.
In us, there are good seeds like the seeds of love, of compassion, of mindfulness, of forgiveness, of joy. But these seeds are not watered or exposed, so they are getting smaller and smaller. Meanwhile, the seeds of suffering every day are soaked, so growing. So the method is how to come in contact with the good seeds buried in our minds.
HOW TO EXERCISE FOR LOSS, PAIN, AND PAIN
We know that the seeds of mindfulness are available in our minds. If we practice mindfulness, we make this seed bigger and bigger. Practising mindfulness seeds means how that seed of mindfulness becomes a regular mind present in our living room. If practising breathing consciously and mindful of the breath is present for one minute, ten minutes, one hour, then during that time in our living room there will always be a precious guest.
That guest is Buddha because mindfulness is the Buddha. Breathing and seeing the green of plants, breathing and smiling at the stars, breathing and exposing to the light of dawn, breathing and coming into contact with the health, freshness and the mystery of life, we and you can invite those precious guests to dwell in our living room.
We can also put ourselves in a good set like that of a monk. In the context of a monk, we see many happy people, no bad conditions, no bad food sources. In such a monk, we do not consume toxic products. We are vegetarians, we do not watch harmful movies, we do not read harmful books, we do not speak toxic stories, we are not exposed to violence or hatred. feud.
We come into contact with daily practices, teachers, nuns, brothers, sisters who are practicing walking meditation, meditation, breathing, smiles, etc. Good scene of the monk. Put yourself in good shape so that in such a good situation we can come in contact with the good seeds in our minds. We cultivate the seeds of mindfulness and we light the mindfulness lamp all day and all night in our living room.
When the blocks of sorrow in us move and demand to go up, we open the door, allow them to come up, it’s okay. We allow them to detect. Sometimes mindfulness even goes down to the cave along that alley, that forbidden area, that aching area, that stalemate to contact them. Sometimes from those deadlock areas we open the door so that the pain masses emerge, we are not afraid anymore because we have mindfulness, we have the Buddha’s blessing. When the pain mass comes up, we must have the courage to identify that pain and cuddle that pain in our mindfulness area.
We have not practised before, we are afraid of these suffering blocks going up because when they come up they destroy them! But now we know-how.
What is our way? As we practice, we increase the energy of mindfulness. When the energy of mindfulness is present in the living room there is no reason for us to be afraid, we keep opening the door to let these grief blocks go up. We do not suppress, not fight with them anymore. We let them go up and open our arms to embrace them, identify them. They are us.
The stronger the power of mindfulness, the more effective the cuddling. Want strong mental energy, we must practice breathing meditation, walking meditation, sitting meditation, eating meditation, and working meditation. Those are methods for cultivating mindfulness.
When mindfulness is already present, there is no reason for us to be afraid, we just need to embrace the pain. After a while hugging it, five minutes, ten minutes, it lessened and the pain returned to consciousness. It has not yet been transformed, but it is slightly lighter, for example, a thousandth. Although few, how it is lighter! Because while the energy of mindfulness embraces it, there is always a change within it, and it loses a bit of energy before returning to its original place in the depths of the mind.
So when the monk sat down every day and said,
I have to grow old, I cannot avoid getting old.
I have to be sick all the time, I can’t avoid it.
I’ve to die, I cannot avoid it.
At those times, the monk allowed to invite that fear block and use the energy of mindfulness to embrace that fear, so that after five minutes and ten minutes, the fear block will return to the depths of the mind. , a little lighter. Doing it secretly, that’s why the monk sat many times a day, walking many times a day. If you do the opposite, then you block it. Do not give it up, the bigger it gets, the greater its harm.
When sitting like that, one thing happened that the monk allowed the mind to circulate like blood in the body.
The next day the monk sat down again and said:
I’ve to grow old, I cannot avoid getting old.
I’ve to be sick all the time, I can’t avoid it.
I have to die, I cannot avoid it.
That is the practice. Which practice with? With the energy of mindfulness. If there is no energy of mindfulness, when fear arises, it causes you great suffering. But because of the mindful energy, the mindfulness energy embraces that fear and after a period of five or seven minutes, the fear returns to its place in consciousness, weakening a bit as stated. above.
Thanks to such practice, the monk created a good circulation of psychology. The Buddha himself has seen this. Because the practice of Yoga is to help operate both physically and psychologically. Citta is the mind’s blood, it has to have a functioning, there must be circulation. How do we make these mental states have the right to circulation in the field of psychology?
If we keep this suffering in our conscious region a little longer, hold it a little longer, and use mindfulness energy to look deep into the heart of this mind, then we transform it. get more, and when you go back to consciousness, it will get weaker. The thing of embracing it for a few minutes and identifying it before letting it go was of much use. That benefit is called generating psychological circulation. Whoever is going to have a mental illness, then meditate, meditate on your breath, practice mindfulness, and when you are mindful, you open the door for the pain to go up, don’t be afraid!
There is another benefit of living with a monk. If I am not strong enough, I have some mindfulness already, I am ready to open the door for it to go up, but I’m a little bored, I invite a teacher, another nun, another student understood me, loved me and came to sit with me. I can hold his hand, breathe, and open the door of my mind. When there was a good intellectual sitting next to him and said: I will cover for you, I will cover for you, you just open the door for the pain to go up, it’s okay.
My mindful energy may be enough, but if it’s not enough then there is me here, that’s okay. It is the blessing of the Sangha. Protection of mindfulness is one mindfulness that supports the other mindfulness. The other mindfulness may not be strong enough, so your mindfulness will give you the strength to help it become stronger. Just like an electric battery is not enough to light up the light bulb, next to that, I have another stronger battery, which transmits electricity to the other battery. That is called a blessing.
There are painful sufferings that alone, I can not stand.
Oh my God!
